I Walk the Line is a photographic series created through long exposures and successive flashes of light, bringing together different stages of the same figure’s movement within a single image. The superimposition of gestures dissolves the body’s stability, transforming it into a multiple and ever-changing presence, suspended between control and transformation.

The line coincides with the edge of a television screen, evoking the device through which the female body has historically been observed, constructed, and transformed into an image. The television is not merely a support, but a physical and symbolic boundary within which the body presents itself as a simulacrum, before gradually escaping that very representation. The aviator helmet’s cables recall those that power the television, suggesting a condition of continuous connection between the body and the device that renders it visible. Through the repetition of the gesture, the body moves beyond the boundaries of the screen, reasserting its presence and transforming that space of containment into a portal of passage.

Lambda print on fine art paper, 2008

Lambda print on aluminium, 2008
